The Dallas Mavericks play their home opener on Saturday night against the Charlotte Bobcats. They returned home after going 1-1 on the season-opening back-to-back on the road against the Los Angeles Lakers and the Utah Jazz.

The season got off to an encouraging start with a dominating win in LA on opening night Tuesday with a 99-91 win against the Lakers. The momentum took a dip the following night when the Mavs lost to the Jazz by almost 20.

Here we are on Saturday night and the Mavs play a team who most think are going to be terrible this season. The Bobcats include a promising young guard in Kemba Walker. They also have former Mav Brendan Haywood.

Chris Kaman is set to make his season debut for the Mavs on Saturday night. He is coming back from a strained calf injury. Backup point guard Rodrigue Beaubois is a game-time decision after he re-sprained the ankle he hurt in the preseason.

The game tips around 7:40 pm CT and it can be heard on the radio on 103.3 ESPNDallas. It can also be seen on TV on Fox Sports Southwest.
