Loading ...Dallas Mavericks starting forward Shawn Marion left Monday night's game against the Portland Trail Blazers with a knee injury. An MRI today revealed a sprained MCL.
Marion will miss Dallas' next three games.
"It's a little minor thing to deal with," said Marion. "It could have been a lot worse. Luckily, it's not."
While Marion is out, rookie second-round pick for the Mavs Jae Crowder will likely start at small forward, while veteran Dahntay Jones is also a possibility.
The man they call Matrix injured his knee while colliding with teammate Elton Brand in the third quarter Monday.
Dallas finishes its three-game homestand on Wednesday against the Toronto Raptors. They then take on the New York Knicks and the Charlotte Bobcats on the road.
Marion's status will be determined after the two-game trip to New York and Charlotte.
