The Dallas Mavericks finish up their three-game homestand with a matchup against the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night.
Dallas will try to go the 4-1 on the young season with a shorthanded team.
The Mavs are already without Dirk Nowitzki for at least a few more weeks. Shawn Marion is out for at least the team's next three games, including tonight, with a sprained MCL. Rodrigue Beaubois is going to miss another game with a sprained ankle.
Add Elton Brand to list of inactives for tonight's game against Toronto.
Brand isn't injured, but he will be with his wife as he prepares for the birth of his child. This leaves the Mavs very shorthanded in the frontcourt. Head coach Rick Carlisle wants to be careful with Chris Kaman's minutes, but will likely give him his first start of the season.
The Dallas backcourt of Darren Collison and O.J. Mayo will more than likely have to carry the team while they try to survive this stretch without their big men. Mayo has scored 62 total points over the past two games, with 30 against the Charlotte Bobcats and 32 against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Collison has scored at least 14 points in all four games this season, and has had two straight games with a double-double, scoring 14 points and dishing out 13 assists Monday night against Portland.
The game can be seen on television on Fox Sports Southwest, as well as heard on the radio on 103.3 ESPNDallas at 7:30 pm CT.
