The Dallas Mavericks don't have much time to dwell on their 104-94 loss in Madison Square Garden Friday night. They get right back on the court to take on the Charlotte Bobcats for the third time in less than a month.
This matchup will be the second of the season, the last of a two-game season series. The two teams also played in the preseason finale for both.
O.J. Mayo scored 23 points Friday night against the Knicks but was plagued by foul trouble and untimely turnovers. Him and fellow backcourt mate Darren Collison combined for 12 turnovers in the game, something that must be corrected if Dallas is going to get a win in Charlotte Saturday night.
"New York's a veteran team and if you give them more possessions and you give them possessions on catastrophic turnovers, they're going to convert them into points," Dallas coach Rick Carlisle said.
Dallas is already without Dirk Nowitzki and Shawn Marion for the immediate future, although the team is still off to a 4-2 start. Reserve forward Vince Carter tweaked his hip in Friday night's game, but stated he will play.
The game can be seen on television on Fox Sports Southwest. It can also be heard on the radio on 103.3 ESPNDallas. The game tips at around 6:30 PM CT.
