The Dallas Mavericks return home from a rough two-game stretch on the road. Dallas is coming off two straight losses to the New York Knicks and Charlotte Bobcats.

The Mavs are hoping that a matchup at home against a team that is also shorthanded will help them bounce back from a two-game skid.

The Minnesota Timberwolves make their first appearance at American Airlines Center this season. They will be doing it without star forward Kevin Love and up-and-coming guard Ricky Rubio. Love is recovering from a broken hand and Rubio is still dealing with the aftermath of a torn ACL suffered late last season.

Former Dallas guard J.J. Barea, who was key in the Mavs' 2011 NBA Finals series against the Miami Heat, is a question mark for this game. He has been dealing with a foot sprain.

The Mavs will have to take care of the ball much better than they have during their last two games. Dallas has committed 39 turnovers in the last two games, both losses.

Shawn Marion is most likely out of this tilt, still recovering from an MCL injury. He has missed the last three games.

Dallas will also most likely need another big game from O.J. Mayo. He has averaged 28 points in three home games thus far, but he has struggled himself with turnovers and some foul trouble.

Minnesota won the last matchup in American Airlines Center, winning 105-90 last season on January 25th, using strong performances from Love and Rubio.

Even with that loss, the Mavs have won 10 of the last 12 meetings against the T-Wolves at home.

The game can be seen on Fox Sports Southwest, and it can also be heard on 103.3 ESPNDallas. Tip is scheduled for around 7:30 PM CT.
