After missing five games with a sprained MCL injury, Dallas Mavericks forward Shawn Marion will get the start in Friday night's game against the Indiana Pacers.
It was originally thought that Marion might be held back by head coach Rick Carlisle until Saturday night's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, but Marion decided that he was healthy enough to give it a go, despite most likely playing with pain.
Marion joins a starting lineup that includes Darren Collison and O.J. Mayo in the backcourt, and Chris Kaman and Elton Brand in the frontcourt.
Dallas will try to build on a win Wednesday night against the Washington Wizards. Marion has been averaging eight points in four games. The Mavs will be happy to have Marion back, as he was their leading rebounder last year, as well as their best defender.
Friday night's game can be seen on television on Fox Sports Southwest, and it can also be heard on 103.3 ESPNDallas.
