DeMarcus Cousins of the Sacramento Kings has had his fair share of character issues.
Cousins 'accidental' low-blow to the groin of Dallas Mavericks guard O.J. Mayo during Monday night's game isn't going to help his reputation.
During the second quarter, Cousins clearly appeared to purposely take a shot at Mayo's groin while the two got tangled up during a possession. When Mayo took offense to Cousins' actions, both players were issued offsetting double technical fouls as a result. But Mayo seemed to get the bad end of that deal because he clearly had a point.
And this action only solidifies the immaturity issues for a player who is supposed the be the face of the Sacramento Kings franchise.
"Man, I was so pissed," Mayo said. "It's just, where does that come in in the game, you know what I mean? He's a talented player, has a chance to be an All-Star. But you do stuff like that, it takes you down a class."
Mayo went on further to say that Cousins has 'mental issues', and those are preventing him from achieving his potential.
Cousins wasn't done with his antics. Later in the game when the Kings were making a run against the Mavs, Dallas head coach Rick Carlisle proceeded to call a timeout to stop the run, and Cousins came walking to Carlisle and started taunting him and the Dallas bench.
The Kings ended up losing by 23.
