Despite being down by as much as 14 points against the NBA's worst team, the Dallas Mavericks rallied for their biggest comeback win of the season, beating the Washington Wizards 103-94.
The Mavs snapped a six-game losing streak, the team's longest losing streak during the Mark Cuban era.
Vince Carter led the way for Dallas, scoring 23 points on 9-14 shooting. O.J. Mayo, still trying to get himself out of the slump he was in during the Mavs' skid, had 15 points, five assists, and, more importantly, no turnovers.
Dirk Nowitzki scored in double figures for the first time since his return from offseason knee surgery. He had 11 points off the bench.
Dallas avoided hitting an absolute low point of the season by beating the 4-25 Wizards. The Mavs improved to 13-19 and will try to keep it going against the Miami Heat on Wednesday night.
The Heat host Dallas on Wednesday night coming off a comeback win on Monday night against the Detroit Pistons. That came after two straight losses that has Miami very much frustrated. The Heat are still 21-8, but are looking for some home cooking against the Mavs, whom Miami has beaten three straight times in the regular season.
