After losing to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday night 117-114, Dallas Mavericks forward Shawn Marion was quoted as saying "it's hard to beat anybody when you're playing five-on-eight."
That statement caused Marion to get hit with a $25,000 fine from the NBA for publicly criticizing the refs.
Oklahoma City star Kevin Durant, guarded by Marion some during the game, went to the free throw line 21 times, hitting all of them. It was part of Durant's career night of 52 points.
The penalty was handed down on Saturday night by executive vice president of operations Stu Jackson.
