It feels nice for once for the Dallas Mavericks to be on the right side of a blowout victory, especially against a quality team. The Mavs beat up the Golden State Warriors Saturday night 116-91 on the second of a five-game homestand.
Dallas got another great performance from Shawn Marion, who led the way with 26 points and 11 rebounds. O.J. Mayo had 19 points and Darren Collison chipped in 18 points. Elton Brand had a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
The Mavs improved to 22-28 and with four of their next seven opponents currently with losing records, Dallas has a chance to capitalize on their somewhat friendly part of the schedule.
Dallas is also on pace to chop off their beards a lot quicker than planned, with several players stating they won't shave until the Mavs reach back to the .500 mark.
Dallas appears headed in the right direction, as their season-long five-game homestand continues on Monday night with a matchup against the Atlanta Hawks, the first matchup of the season between the two teams.Tags: Atlanta Hawks, Basketball, Dallas, Dallas Mavericks, Darren Collison, Elton Brand, NBA, O.J.
